Poppa and the girls had their picture made with a Cormorant bird. These birds are tied to the wooden raft and released into the water to hunt for fish. The rope keeps them from swallowing the fish and getting away. Once the birds are pulled back to the boat, the fish are pulled from their mouths. This is a very common fishing method in this area.
