Today was an easy day compared to the last several days. We visited a temple that was built to honor an honest judge. The guide tride to get the girls to burn incense, bow down, and offer a wish to the man. Kai kept staring at her with this bewildered look like, "and why would we want to do that!" However, there were many interesting stories that were told about the man. One thing we found interesting was these swords. One is gold, one is bronze, and one is iron. After judgment was passed, the execution, if needed was swift and immediate. No opportunities for appeals. The beheading (execution) was performed with the sword based on your social class. If you were royalty, you were executed with a GOLD sword. If you were a government official, a BRONZE sword. The common folk were executed with the lowly IRON sword. Is death less permanent if you use a gold sword???
