Today was our last day in Beijing for a week. We will return at the end of our trip to visit the Great Wall, and do a few more things. This morning we visited Tianamen Square. Thursday was the 20th anniversary of the Tianamen Square Massacre. Amazingly, the people of China have very little knowledge of this tragic event. I think this is the reason the blog website is being blocked, as they don't want their people to read or see pictures of this event. Chairman Mao is burined in the building in the center of the square. We did not get to go in as we were told the wait is over two hours to see his body. During the day his body is raised up so that people can come by and see it, and during the night they lower it into a cold chamber so that he can be preserved.- Beth
