This morning we went to the Summer Palace. It was raining the whole time, so we had to buy cheap umbrellas from the market vendors that swarmed our bus when we arrived at the front gate. The Summer Palace is the place where the Emperors and their families lived during the summer months. We were only allowed to look through the windows because the furniture is very, very old. We saw a river barge made of ivory. We also took a Dragon boat ride across the river.
